Hi, my name is Amanda Nair. I was born in Sydney, Australia, and am now living in Brisbane, Australia (I know… whoaa… I moved a long way right! Lol). I do like Australia. It is, and has always been my home. I have however always had a feeling that I may end up living in a far off place someday… God alone knows if that will occur 🙂
I am currently employed at Uniting Care Community (formerly Lifeline) as an Inclusion Support Facilitator. I have only just been blessed with this job, and the Lord has been amazing to deliver me a position that suits me perfectly. I am passionate about children, and love them to bits! Although now I am not working directly with children, I am still fortunate to be working on their behalf, to help all children feel as though they belong and are loved by their educators and peers in childcare settings.
Over the past year and a half, my life has been flipped upside down in a wonderful and challenging way. Just over a year ago, I was introduced to Jesus by an amazing man of faith (who now happens to be my husband). As I learned about God’s grace and His love for me, and how He sacrificed His only Son, Jesus Christ, so that I could be cleansed of all my sins, my heart melted and I began to see the world in a whole new light. Jesus changed my life from being a mere fleeting exixtance here on earth, to an eternal life by His side in heaven! I pray to be more like Jesus everyday, so that I may reflect all that He is in my every word and action. I pray the Lord will use me to bless others, and that He will increase my faith and courage to boldly share the gospel with those who are yet to accept Jesus as their Saviour. Please read my poem ‘The rescue’ for greater insight in to what Jesus did for me (and also for you if you will open the door to your heart for Him). My prayer for all who read it is that they too will be rescued, and walk with me on the path to eternal life.
On the 7th of July 2012 I married my beautiful husband, Srikanth (Sri). We are both enjoying this new and exciting stage of life, and look forward to what God has planned for the future. We have shared some wonderful times so far in our married life, but I’d like to share one special moment with you. The other night we were lying in bed, and had just finished rubbing vicks on each other’s chest, as we were both sick with the flu. Feeling lousy in our battling bodies, dead tired, our hands gently nestled in one another’s, Sri turned his head and whispered in the dark “this is nice”. I smiled, knowing what he mean’t yet playing ignorant, I asked “what is nice, bu?” “All of it”, he said. At that, I said “yes it is :-)”, lean’t over and kissed him goodnight. We both fell in to a deep sleep, still connected by something, or rather, someone unseen. So blessed.
Some of my passions and hobbies include… Writing, all kinds of dancing, singing, music (particularly gospel, acid jazz, funk, soul, acoustic rock/pop), travelling to foreign lands, lying on a picnic rug in the park and reading the Bible, watching clouds, having conversations about things that really matter, eating, swimming in the ocean, watching sunsets (and sunrises, but not the best morning person), praying, collecting seashells, watching movies, playing board games (and any game really!), and laughing so hard that tears fall.
Any way, enough about me… I would love to hear from you! Drop me an email sometime 🙂
God bless you all.
Amanda xx
